Ice Hockey is more than just a game; it is another way to help teach us the right values in life in order to be a successful, well rounded person. It is also a team sport that helps bond everyone together and create great friendships!
Similar to other team sports, ice hockey can bring many advantages compared to those that are played individually. Here are some examples:
- Besides the health benefits of getting physical activity (exercising), participants improve coordination, strength, flexibility, reflexes and agility.
- Life skills that hockey players learn from a young age and carry on well past their hockey playing careers.
- Players learn to work as a team towards a common goal, develop strong communication and listening skills and respect for authority and rules.
- Participants also develop self-confidence, patience, self-esteem and sportsmanship that will help them in all areas of their lives.
Not every player will become the next Sidney Crosby, but every player will benefit being a part of the greatest game on Earth!
